Raspberries are the epitome of summer. The exquisite little fruits grow in hedges and bushes and awaken memories of the endless long June days of our childhood in many of us: We crept barefoot through the tall grass, while the sun threw its glistening light on the tops of the fruit trees. Bees and butterflies populated the warm air and a fine scent lured us to the lush branches of the raspberry hedge. With nimble fingers we hastily plucked the first sweet raspberries of the year, the red juice soon marked our hands and a satisfied smile on our face.
Oh summer!
With their St. Louis Framboise, Belgian Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck builds on this wonderful feeling. Hand-picked raspberries of the Willamette variety are used for the delicious fruit beer and give the drink their tempting color, irresistible scent and a taste that makes the sun rise, no matter what the weather is outside.
Van Honsebrouck’s Framboise flows into the glass in a raspberry-red tinted chestnut shade and is crowned with a hand’s breadth of soft pink foam. The raspberry runs like a red thread through the drinking pleasure and dominates both the smell and the taste. The Framboise is a delicately composed beer with deep raspberry notes and a harmonious fruit acidity.
