The British are the masters of ales. This style of beer is firmly linked to the tradition and history of the country and goes perfectly with the typical dishes of Scotland, Ireland and England. We are therefore not surprised that the IPAs, the India Pale Ales, from Great Britain are also quite excellent. Cannonball is a wonderful example of British brewing and just one of many excellent beers in Magic Rock Brewing's range.
Cannonball presents itself in a cloudy gold tone in the glass and forms a stately, white head of foam. A tempting potpourri of scents rises from the fluffy foam, making you want to take your first sip. In the nose, a tangy citrus note meets the juicy fruitiness of tropical fruit. A malty caramel note complements the fragrance mixture. The full hop power of the six hop varieties used is noticeable on the palate: Amarillo, Simcoe, Centennial, Citra, Magnum and Columbus combine to create a tangy, fresh IPA revelation. Cannonball is nice and sweet, the fruity punch is balanced by a nice, tart bitterness. The 7.4% alcohol content is wonderfully integrated.
The IPA Cannonball from Magic Rock Brewing is a masterfully composed beer that is wonderfully drinkable thanks to its fruity freshness.
