Emelisse is a microbrewery from the Netherlands that makes not only Dutch people fly with their excellent beers.
Through the clever networking of different beer styles and their very own style, the Emelisse team is causing a sensation in the craft beer scene and has already won numerous awards. The Smoked Rye IPA is a prime example of Dutch brewing art, although the style itself does not originally come from the Netherlands. Emelisse manages to put her very own stamp on the now very popular IPA and we are thrilled!
The Smoked Rye IPA comes in a light blonde tone and scores with a beautiful white foam head. As soon as you open it, wonderfully fruity hop notes of peach and pine hit your nose. The rye malt it contains also gives the beer a fabulous smoky note, which complements the fruit bouquet wonderfully. This elegant composition continues in the taste: dominant roasted aromas meet hoppy fruit and dance a tango on the tongue. A pleasant bitter note is added in the finish and skilfully rounds off the beer experience.
The Smoked Rye IPA is a masterfully composed IPA with perfectly balanced bitterness and a beautiful range of aromas. A work of art!
