A beer that captures the character and soul of Sardinia has been brewed since 1912. The harsh landscape with barren rocks, evergreen, dense forests, picturesque bays, wild seas and lush flora and fauna is the pride of the Sardinians. The people of Sardinia had to live through hard, deprived times and were plagued by revolutions, wars and famine. The difficult times have left their mark on the spirit of Sardinia and will never be forgotten, even in times of happiness and abundance. Sardinia combines respect for the past with a great love of life and a positive view of the future.
You can taste all these things in the beer that is brewed by Sardinians for Sardinians. Luckily the brewers also share their beer with non-Sardinians, otherwise we would miss out on a really tasty beer!
Ichnusa flows into the glass in a crystal-clear amber tone and forms a stately, white head of foam. A fine malt scent rises from the airy foam, making you want to take your first sip. The initial taste reveals a medium-weight body with pleasant carbonation and a fresh, crisp consistency. In terms of taste, Ichnusa delights with a malty aroma that ranges from roasted grain to gentle caramel notes to notes of sweet popcorn. The hops contribute a fine bitterness, which increases to a crisp bitterness towards the finish.
Ichnusa is a Mediterranean lager that is light on its feet and drinkable.
