Good things take time, but when that good thing is beer, it also needs to be made from excellent raw materials. Because our favorite drink only consists of four ingredients, the men and women behind the kettles have little leeway. Every choice has to be a hit, otherwise the end result is not well-rounded, not drinkable or simply not tasty.
The team at the Schladminger Brewery in Styria, Austria, only uses the best ingredients for their barley juice. The crystal-clear brewing water comes from springs in the Schladminger Tauern and hops and malt are sourced from regional farmers wherever possible. The two organic beers in the range are the crowning glory of the pursuit of quality: Both the Schnee Weiße and the BioZwickl from Schladminger are brewed using 100 percent raw materials from controlled organic farming.
The BioZwickl is made according to a traditional recipe and consists entirely of organic ingredients that grew on Austrian soil. The honey-gold beer with a copper sheen and a delicately cloudy body smells fruity and fresh and tastes that way too. Soft grain meets hearty notes on the palate, crispy bread crust, creamy forest honey and refreshing citrus notes. The hops are surprisingly strong and, in addition to the fruitiness, also contribute a fine spiciness and a solid bitterness to the aromas.
