Many breweries have a beer they are known for. A creation that brought them fame and glory, garnered them medals and awards, and earned them a good name in the craft beer scene. In the case of Canada’s Steamworks Brewing Company, that beer is a Hazy IPA, aptly named Flagship.
One of the first of its kind in British Columbia, Steamworks Flagship Hazy India Pale Ale has caused quite a stir. The news of the wonderful, cloudy beer with a hoppy character spread like wildfire and it didn’t take long for the crowd’s favorite to win the first prizes. Nothing has changed since then: Flagship is still one of the brewery’s most popular beers and although it has been produced according to the same recipe for years, it still manages to inspire the jury of renowned competitions. But the most important question is: Are you excited about it too?
The golden beer specialty flows into the glass in the color of liquid sunshine and is adorned with a fleeting crown of white, fragrant foam. A fine veil runs through the beer and gives it a nice cloudiness. Smell and taste are characterized by a successful composition of soft malt, caramel, pink grapefruit, orange peel, mango, papaya and pine resin. At the end, a dry, hop-intensive finish awaits the beer lover.
Steamworks Flagship Hazy IPA comes in both cans and bottles .
