The tropics with their warm and humid climate, lush vegetation, dreamlike beaches, the wonderful range of juicy fruits, the relaxed and fluffy attitude to life and the inviting culture have certainly healed one or the other of his everyday ailments. The sun drives away bad moods and stubborn moods, relaxes tense bodies and simply lets the little problems of everyday life melt away. However, because such a therapeutic stay in the tropics comes at a cost and would be beyond the budget of most of us, brewers at French brewery Les Intenables shortened the whole experience and packed it into one beer.
Tropical Therapy is a symphony of four types of malt and the American hop varieties Mosaic and Simcoe and keeps what it promises: the warm golden specialty with a dense-pored head of foam is pure relaxation in terms of smell. A bouquet of guava, passion fruit and papaya fills the air, letting mirages of palm-fringed beaches and drinks in coconuts bloom. The first sip picks up on this enjoyable start and ensnares the palate with a silky texture and a creamy mouthfeel. Instead of a strong bitterness, the New England IPA from Alsace features a variety of tropical fruits and tastes strongly reminiscent of a cocktail made from freshly squeezed fruit.
