Yakima Chief Hops is one of the largest hop growers in the world. Located in the sunny Yakima Valley, the company supplies breweries across the planet with the finest cones, extracts, pellets and other hoppy products. To celebrate the potency and excellence of their flowers, the company selects breweries each year to brew beers with a predetermined selection of hops. This event takes place annually at harvest time and is an opportunity for brewers to personally see for themselves the quality of the hops and to exchange ideas with colleagues and hop growers.
Browar Pinta was the only Polish brewery to be invited this year and represents its country with great pride. The team chose the Cascade variety from the abundance of excellent hops. This classic of the craft beer scene is characterized by intense grapefruit notes and combines lemony freshness and liveliness with floral hints and a nice spice.
Pinta has finely worked out the properties of the hop varieties and combined them with a bouquet of pine resin, wildflowers and meadow herbs for her West Coast IPA. The result is a citrus-fresh IPA with a round character and a great balance of juicy fruit and herbal spice. A strong bitterness rounds off the flavor profile harmoniously.
