Bierbrand is a spirit distilled from fresh beer. In Germany there are strict requirements for the products that may be called Bierbrand: The product must be a pure distillate with a minimum alcohol content of 38.0% and may not contain any added alcohol or artificial flavors. The basis of every beer brandy is beer. The taste of the beer brandy depends on which beer is used. For beer fans, such a schnapps is the perfect complement to beer and a fine drop for special moments.
One of our favorite brandies comes from the Freigeist Bierkultur brewery. Their distillate is called dem hops be brandy and brings a powerful 42.0% alcohol content to the glass. The crystal-clear drink captures the character of a good beer excellently and gives us the pure soul of beer. The fine aroma is composed of soft malt and harmonious hops, the alcohol contributes a spicy fire that warms body and soul while drinking.
The beer brandy is wonderfully suited as an aperitif before a sumptuous meal or as a witty conclusion to such a meal. We are of the opinion that a bottle of beer brandy should not be missing in any well-stocked beer cellar - you know what celebratory moments life has in store for you!
