Actually, the fifth season is the carnival season. For many, the small mid-season in February is the highlight of the calendar of events and the most fun week of the year. For Franconia, the fifth season is not carnival, but the bock beer season. Just in time for the end of summer, the fun begins: all Franconian breweries tap their bock beer in boozy parties. People flock from far and wide to enjoy the freshly brewed strong beer . The delicacy is served directly from the barrel and is sometimes sold out after just a few hours. This magnificent time extends from September to May and gives us not only strong winter and Christmas bucks, but also those for Lent and Easter and of course May bucks.
Of course, the Krug-Bräu from Waischenfeld also has a selection of bocks in its range. Their classic, the Breitenlesauer Bockbier, has a decent 6.8% alcohol content and is presented in a magnificent chestnut brown color with a ruby red shimmer. The voluminous creation brings freshly baked bread, candied fruit, roasted grain, creamy blossom honey and tenderly melting toffee to the tongue. A hint of smoke and subtle hops with bitter overtones complete the taste profile.
Equip yourself optimally for the unofficial fifth season with the Breitenlesauer Bockbier from Krug!
