The newest beer in the down-to-earth range of Krug-Bräus is an absolute must for all Franconian breweries: the classic light beer should not be missing from the beer selection. The traditional beer specialty is brewed by hand and consists exclusively of ingredients that meet the strict requirements of the Bavarian Purity Law.
In the glass, the Franke presents itself in glittering light gold. Carbon dioxide pearls run through the almost clear amber body and feed the magnificent head of foam. An olfactory symphony of grain, bread, fragrant hay, hints of grass and honey fills the air and introduces the pleasure of beer. A medium-bodied initial drink follows and pleases with notes of oven-fresh biscuits, light malt, stone fruits, yeast dough and green hops.
Thanks to its balanced character, the Breitenlesauer Helle goes wonderfully with Franconian cuisine. We particularly like a modern interpretation of the traditional snack. For this you toast a few slices of stone oven bread and spread a good portion of Ziebeleskäse on top. Die-hards can also use some butter. We place thick slices of Limburger and radishes that have been pickled in white wine vinegar on top of the grainy cream cheese. Homemade fried onions add texture and bite. A dollop of mustard, scallions and a generous helping of freshly ground black pepper round off the Franconian slice perfectly. Add a cool light beer and enjoy!
