The illustrious range of fine session beers from Maisel & Friends has a new addition! The Sour IPA is a real hop bomb and also inspires with its unlikely drinkability. Despite the excess of hops, the India Pale Ale is wonderfully harmonious, soft and simply flows well down the throat.
The IPA appears in a typical amber tone in the glass and can almost be described as naturally cloudy. The copper-colored beer has a head of foam on its head, which is stately, pure white and extremely steadfast and tempts you to take the first sip. The fine scent of fruity hops and honey-sweet malt also contributes and makes you hardly wait for the taste. In terms of taste, the Sour IPA is initially malty: creamy blossom honey meets softly melting caramel and gently roasted malt on the palate. The hops contribute a wonderful fruitiness, which harmonizes perfectly with the malt notes with aromas of lemon peel and red berries. If you are wondering where the advertised hops are, now they are coming. After the malty start, the hops strike with full force and spoil the tongue with a fruity-fresh bouquet of citrus aromas and tropical fruit. The hops are accompanied by an elegant acidity. Fine tongues can also taste tangerines and ripe wild berries.
The hoppy dominance of the middle part extends into the finish and presents, in addition to the fruit explosion, also a clean bitterness that wonderfully rounds off the play of aromas.
A wonderfully balanced IPA that inspires with acidity, fruit and bitterness.
