With without is with taste and without alcohol!
The label of Tilman’s “With Without” shows a lion and a crocodile on a tandem bike. Both have a bottle in their hand and look extremely happy. Anyone who is now worried about the two of them because, as we know, we don’t drink and drive, can relax straight away. Most likely, the two of them drink with and without and therefore have a sharper mind and are still at 0 alcohol even after the fifth bottle. And that’s not because of the animal strength of the wild cat and reptile, but because of the beer they choose: Mit Ohne is Tilman’s first non-alcoholic beer!
The non-alcoholic wheat beer from Tilmans Biere, like its alcoholic counterparts, is a highlight on the beer market and essentially a classic. When it comes to his beer for teetotallers, Tilman also takes a traditional beer style and makes it his own with a few changes and additions. Using Australian hops Vic Secrets, the brewer conjures up a fruity, malty creation that is slightly bitter and very refreshing. Aromas of tropical fruits mix with the scent of hop blossoms and are accompanied by an earthy, grassy note of fresh grain. In sunny yellow and with a pleasant carbonation, it can hardly be distinguished from alcoholic wheat and is not inferior in taste.
We recommend Tilman’s “With Without” to everyone who wants to do a bike race with a lion and a crocodile after the regulars’ get-together, to everyone who wants to spend the time between Carnival and Easter abstinent but not without beer, and to those who are still recovering from their last hangover must.
Tasting note from our beer sommelier Marco Liebig:
One of the biggest challenges for a master brewer is producing a good non-alcoholic brew. Now this segment is currently growing rapidly and small breweries are also starting to serve this segment. Beer sommelier Marco Liebig presents a very successful example:
After pouring, we are greeted in the glass with a naturally cloudy, light yellow beer with a fine-pored foam.
On the nose I have lychee, lime, lemon zest, a light honey and grassy note with a subtle biscuit dough.
The initial taste is smooth, fruity with a slight sweetness, a brief bitterness and elegant citrus notes.
The citrus note remains in the finish.
Our conclusion:
A light and well-tolerated non-alcoholic beer! How often have I had it that many non-alcoholic beers are over-carbonated. Tilmans has conjured up a great beer here, which also has taste and the perlage stays nicely in the background. Definitely encourages you to have a second beer.
Food recommendation:
Greek lemon soup with chicken, cauliflower and fennel soup, light salads with light vinaigrette.
Water, barley malt, wheat malt, hops, yeast
