Pure nature - that is the inspiration for the Orca Grape Ale. The Nuremberg brewery is already bringing out the third vintage of its Riesling Grape Ales. For this series of special beers, Orca Brau works together with befriended winemaker Nico Olinger. Felix vom Endt is a virtuoso of the beery base and Nico Olinger contributes the finest grapes on which the beer is then stored.
A Belgian season is brewed as the basis. This beer specialty is characterized by its balanced, round character and its fruity acidity. Orca’s interpretation of a Belgian season is stored and post-fermented on freshly harvested Riesling grapes after the brewing process has been completed. The grapes come from the Schwanberg in Iphofen in Lower Franconia and take the most direct route from the vine to the boiler. The natural grapes refined the beer over a period of six months. The result is a complex beer with playful sweetness, soft malt, a wild, delicate fruit acid and the taste of ripe grapes. Undertones of green apples and apricots appear in the body in harmony with the aroma palette of the Riesling grape.
The finished beer is filled into small champagne bottles and tastes wonderful as an aperitif before a good meal, as an evening mood or as a light dessert after an opulent meal.
