The Snug Café is located on the Canadian island of Bowen and entices its guests with aromatic coffee and homemade dishes. Sandwiches, bagels, burritos, and eggs are available in the morning, and wraps, sandwiches, salads, and soups are available for lunch. The carrot cake is particularly popular. How do we know this even though we’ve never been there? Because Felix from Orca Brau raved about it to us!
The man from Nuremberg lived in Canada with his family for quite a while and during this time he often went to the Snug Café to enjoy a piece of carrot cake over a leisurely cup of coffee. The von Endts no longer live there and sorely miss the sweet delicacy. For the brewery’s 6th birthday, the team dared to create a beery version of the beloved pastry. The result of their effort is a so-called Carrot Cake IPA, which sets the right framework with an incredible 200 liters of carrot juice and perfects the interplay of flavors with cinnamon, vanilla and lactose. The unconventional specialty clings to the palate with velvety sweetness and masterfully imitates the incomparable taste of carrot cake. The fruity freshness of the carrot combines with warm spice and vanilla creaminess to create a beery dessert.
