Tutti Frutti is not only a very successful game show from the 90s and the title of a Croatian rock and pop band from the 80s, but also the name of a Nuremberg creation: Orca Brau from Franconia has come up with a so-called Smoothie IPA, the name of which no one else has than Tutti Frutti can be.
The beery version of Tutti Frutti is a real fruit bomb. In addition to barley and wheat malt, lactose and selected hops, passion fruit, nectarine, blackcurrant and calamansi went into the kettle and formed this cocktail of a beer. The proverbial cherry on the cake is the grippy creaminess and the smooth texture, which are more reminiscent of an actual smoothie than a beer. The brew conjures up a fruity exuberance on the table, which is perfectly balanced by spicy hops and a harmonious bitterness. Tutti Frutti brings juicy sweetness, fruity acidity, soft malt and hoppy tartness into the glass and still doesn’t miss the intensity of a conventional IPA. An impressive 7.0% alcohol content skilfully rounds off the game and reminds you that this is definitely not fruit juice. This creation should be enjoyed by everyone who prefers to take their vitamins in beer form.
