The history of this beer is an unbelievable one: the name existed long before a first brewing attempt was even started, the beer was the brewery’s last resort and ultimately had to change its name.

When Dirty Bastard was a thought construct, Mike and Dave were up to their necks in trouble. Their brewery and beers did not go down well with the Americans and neither met the taste of the two founders nor that of their target group. In their desperation, the two wanted to give each other one last chance and, for a change, brew a beer that corresponded to their taste. You already had a name in mind. Inspired by this, Nate Walser and Jeremy Kosmicki brewed a powerful Scotch Ale that even challenged the palates of die-hard craft beer connoisseurs. The secret of the powerful beer is its malty sweetness and the abundance of surprising taste nuances. The mission succeeded and even if the brewers had to give their beer a different name due to legal troubles, the Dirty Bastard saved the brewery and was the foundation stone for a new era.
