There is a game that divides families across generations and is rigorously avoided in some circles. It's about money, power, real estate, strategy, and a little luck. You can spend entire Sundays buying streets, building hotels, running into debt and just a hair's breadth from jail. And sometimes you voluntarily spend a while there, just to escape the horrific rental prices of the other players for a few rounds. Thimble, top hat, spitz, limousine and Co. hunt tirelessly around the board and sometimes play for head and neck.
Everyone knows this game, some love it, some don't.
The Espiga brewery is one of his followers and has dedicated a beer to the legend as part of its board game series. The Double Dry Hopped IPA is aptly named Go to Jail and is brewed with the hop varieties Citra, El Dorado, Simcoe and Hallertauer Blanc. All hops are also used for dry hopping. The hoppy fullness contrasts with four kinds of malts, which give the beer its creamy mouthfeel and strong golden color. Tropical fruit, citrus fruits and the finest notes of white currants, green grapes and pears run like a red thread through the drinking pleasure and dominate both the smell and the taste.
