You can meet new friends almost anywhere. You can bump into each other by chance on the bus and exchange curious glances, you can walk around the corner and bump into someone, you can strike up a conversation at a party, you can happen to sit next to someone nice at a class, or you can find yourself on the leash of someone in particular on your next walk get tangled up with a friendly dog owner. The world is populated by potential soulmates, you just have to find them.
Brewers mainly come across new people when they are among themselves. Countless like-minded people come together at trade fairs, beer festivals and other beer-related events and it is not uncommon for people who were strangers to become friends.
This is what happened with Espiga from Barcelona and the Resident Culture team from Charlotte: both breweries met at the Mikkeller beer festival and hit it off right away. So dazzling that they created a beer together. Matter of Time is a 12.0% strength Imperial Pastry Stout that borrows its luxurious aroma from toasted hazelnuts and almonds, cocoa nibs, pralines and vanilla. The powerful, velvety sweet brew is inspired by the Spanish specialty Catànies and tastes like it: toasted nuts, a coating of praline, fine cocoa and a hint of vanilla - a poem in beer form!
