The idea for Muffin Myrtille is based on an old Welsh saying: Stop trying to make everyone happy, you’re not a blueberry muffin.
We’re not sure if this wisdom is actually ancient or Welsh, but it’s essentially true. Hardly anything can make a large number of people as happy as an oven-fresh, still steaming blueberry muffin with a fluffy, sweet batter and a whole bunch of deep blue little fruits. Until now, because the blueberry muffin from Les Intenables is not a pastry at all, but it will almost certainly make you happy.
The full-bodied Blueberry Pastry Sour brings a whopping 7.2% alcohol content into the glass and shows itself in this very same in an incredibly intense blueberry tone. A dense-pored pink head of foam sits enthroned on the deep violet beer, taking blueberry enjoyment to the next level: A strong scent of freshly picked blueberries fills the air and makes the first sip inevitable. The attack reveals a velvety smooth body that caresses the palate with notes of blueberry muffins and still warm blueberry jam. A hint of lactose gives the beer a fruity acidity that goes wonderfully with the summery sweetness of the wild berries.
Muffin Myrtille tastes best with a freshly baked blueberry muffin. In a pinch, blueberry pancakes or simply two cans of the wonderful sour beer also work.
