Until now we only knew banana wheat as a mixed drink, but now Freigeist Bierkultur has given us a beer that is actually a pure beer and still tastes like bananas. The bananas that were brewed into the beer are to blame. The Tropicator is a hit – not just for fans of banana wheat!
The sunny, light, cloudy beer boasts a stunning banana note as soon as you pour it. Tropical scents fill your nose and promise a banana-like pleasure. And the Tropicator does what it promises: as soon as you drink it, a whole truckload of bananas hits your taste buds. The beer is still well balanced and not overwhelmingly sweet. A delicate hop bitterness and a hint of yeast elegantly balance the fruit explosion. What further enhances the banana experience is the soft, full mouthfeel, reminiscent of a delicious banana milkshake.
You hardly notice the 8% vol. with all the banana, the beer seems much lighter and fresher than the alcohol content would suggest. We like that the label focuses on the essentials and doesn't have a lot of frills.
The Tropicator is a tropical fruity flavor bomb that's fun!
