The small village of Weiher has less than 200 inhabitants and, strictly speaking, belongs to the municipality of Viereth-Trunstadt. Apart from the Dorotheen Chapel, the Weiherbach, the fire station of the volunteer fire brigade and a brewery, there is not much to see there. Nevertheless, Weiher becomes a well-attended meeting place for people from near and far several times a year. This phenomenon is due to the tapping of the bock beer by the local Kundmüller brewery. The family brewery has always had a good reputation in the region, but its participation in international competitions has catapulted it onto the world’s best lists and caused the number of its fans to increase rapidly.
One of the most successful beers from the Kundmüller house is their Pils . The classic is made according to a traditional recipe and has a typical Franconian touch. The brew also bears the protected solar beer seal: all the electricity used to produce this Pilsner is renewable and environmentally friendly. In addition to this laudable title, the specialty has a whole range of other awards and was voted Germany’s best Pils by the jurors of the World Beer Awards in 2021.
