Before the Duckstein Rotblond Original can score with its wonderful taste, it first impresses with its chic look: The fine, top-fermented beer comes in a neat bottle that bears the brewery’s emblem not only on the label, but also in the glass. The decorated "D" emblazoned on the bottle neck and label and promises royal beer enjoyment.
But it’s not just the bottle that is special: the red-blonde beer is stored on aromatic beech wood when it is finished and matures into an excellent beer in these extraordinary surroundings.
The Duckstein Original flows into the glass in a light copper red and is adorned with a crown of slightly tinted foam. A strong scent of caramel malt, freshly mown grass, roasted nuts and a touch of smoke tempts you to take the first sip. This reveals a full-bodied body with a delicately balanced aroma and a dry character. Soft notes of roasted malt, melt-in-the-mouth caramel, sour dried fruits and hazelnuts caress the palate. The malt is very dominant, the hops only contribute the powerful bitterness that extends from the initial taste to the finish. Storage on beech wood also gives the beer a woody note and skilfully rounds off the play of aromas with a portion of smoke.
The red-blonde original from Duckstein is a drinkable beer with a unique aroma.
