Beer and cherries? Yes, please!
If you leave the boundaries of the Bavarian Purity Law, a world of imaginative, varied and innovative beers opens up. The Belgians are true experts when it comes to fruity beers. The Kriek from the Boom brewery, for example, is an absolute favorite that now has real competition: The Huyghe brewery has released another banger alongside its crowd favorite Delirium Tremens. Delirium Red is a ruby red beer brewed with fresh cherries and elderberry juice. Highly aromatic, fruity, fresh and wonderfully summery, Red is the perfect companion for sunny hours.
Delirium Red flows into the glass in the color of liquid ruby and forms a small, pink head of foam. When you open the bottle, a summery scent hits your nose: juicy, deep red cherries meet fine bitter almonds and a floral hint of cherry blossom. The initial drink reveals what the scent already suggested: cherries in abundance. The full-bodied taste of fresh cherry juice washes over the palate and is accompanied by a tangy fruit acid. The cherry explosion is accompanied by a mild bitterness and ends in a dry finish.
If you like beer and cherries, you should really try Delirium Red. Wonderfully fruity with a delicately balanced mix of sweetness and acidity - in short, the perfect fruit beer and a wonderfully refreshing companion for the summer.
