Like the wit, the blond comes from Belgium . The master brewer at the Dutch Brouwerij Noordt learned the craft of brewing in Ghent and brought his expertise from the home of Belgian beer to his new home. With its expertise, the Rotterdam brewery brews a deceptively real blond and calls it Blondt, based on its own brewery name. Both the Abtei yeast and the Hallertau Mittelfrüh hop variety are borrowed from the original. The brew is complemented with wheat and pilsner malt and green gold from the Sorge Nugget. These American hops bring a modern twist to the classic and give the beer the Brouwerij Noordt stamp.
As expected, the blonde beauty flows into the glass in a shiny light gold. A hand’s breadth of foam sits enthroned on the body clouded by delicate yeast and emits a heavenly scent of light malt, oven-fresh bread, grassy hops and ripe fruit. The first sip tingles on the tongue with sparkling carbonic acid and delivers a crisp bitterness that is skilfully balanced by juicy fruit notes. Peach and citrus fruit are joined by herbal notes, hints of grass and crispy bread crusts. A hoppy finish crowns the beer enjoyment.
The Blondt from Noordt is in no way inferior to its Belgian counterparts and tastes wonderfully easy to drink!
