Many people know the Belgian brewery Huyghe as Delirium. Delirium Tremens is probably the most famous beer from Huyghe. Every year, just in time for Advent, the brewery releases a Christmas edition of its blockbuster: Delirium Christmas.
The winter beer is a warming specialty that has 10.0% alcohol content and a whole lot of flavor. Delirium Christmas flows into the glass in a copper-red amber tone and shows ruby red reflections when exposed to light. When poured, a wonderfully festive scent rises from the fine, slightly tinted head of foam: soft caramel, Christmas spices, an earthy note of wood and a spicy hint of yeast meet in the nose and combine to form a tempting potpourri. A strong note of dried red fruits and a mulled wine-like alcohol haze are also added and make you want to take the first sip. When drunk, Delirium Christmas is extremely spicy and warm on the palate. A fruity note of dried plums meets red grapes and roasted malt on the tongue. The velvety smooth beer has a lovely sweetness that is elegantly balanced by a pleasant bitterness. Soft caramel complements the play of aromas. The finish is crispy bitter and wonderfully sweet at the same time.
Delirium Christmas is a feast for the senses and the perfect companion for Advent, Christmas and the holidays afterward. In the stylish 0.75l bottle, Delirium Christmas is perfect as a gift!
